This image speaks for itself. Compared to the Naval Home Guard vessel ALDEBARAN the Danish Navy’s new support ship ESBERN SNARE is a giant. There is of course a good reason for the fact that the 23,7 meter long ALDEBARAN is almost six times smaller than ESBERN SNARE. Their size is a natural consequence of the tasks they have been built for. ESBERN SNARE is designed for use in a wide range of international operations, whereas ALDEBARAN is used for tasks in Danish waters e.g. surveillance and search and rescue operations.
The meeting between ALDEBARAN and ESBERN SNARE in Odense harbour reflects the wide span of different types of ships which from tomorrow will participate in DANEX 06
