In the centre of the city the Aarhus Festival is well ahead and the harbour has been visited by ships from England, Poland and Germany. During the weekend the ships were opened to the public, and the Aarhus citizens showed a great interest for the international ships.

Aside from the Aarhus Festival, which capered several crewmembers, the weekend also gave the sailors the opportunity to participate in more physical activities.

The English crew on board HMS CORNWALL played, and won, a soccer match against the Germans from FGS SACHSEN. The match ended with the result 6 – 1.

Although the referee had to use his red card during the match the crews stayed friends and allies. Afterwards both crests and handshakes were exchanged.

Furthermore the off duty personnel from HMS CORNWALL and FGS FRETTCHEN participated in the Marselis Run in the woods surrounding Aarhus.

The ships departed Aarhus Monday, and are now participating in DANEX 06.

Units in Aarhus:
HMS CORNWALL
