The dark blue LYNX helicopter hovers over a person in the water. From the helicopter one of the crewmembers is lowered into the water close to the distressed, who soon after is brought to saferty aboard the LYNX. The well performed rescue operation is however only a demonstration for the many people who on this sunny Saturday have chosen to visit the festival “Under Sail For 1000 Years” at Odense harbour.
After the rescue operation the helicopter does however not return immediately to its base on the “helo-deck” on the command ship THETIS. The pilot uses the opportunity to show how manoeuvrable the the LYNX is. The Danish Navy has eight LYNX helicopters, which besides rescue operations also can be used as e.g. the far reaching eyes of the ships.
