After an eventful weekend in Rønne the ships have departed for sea so that DANEX 07 really can get underway.

After this weekend’s portvisit in Rønne, daily life at sea has resumed for the ships which participate in Exercise DANEX 07. During this week there will be a broad spectrum of different activities in this phase of the exercise, called “CET/FIT”.

Behind these acronyms we find the topics “Combat Enhancement Training” (CET) and “Force Integration Training” (FIT). CET covers training of the individual ship’s internal procedures and it’s ability to fight. There are different types of warfare such as anti-submarine, anti-surface and anti-air.

FIT is about co-operation between the ships. A ship’s ability to be part of a larger force is equally important as it’s ability to function in an optimized way. The purpose of the FIT-part is to strengthen co-operation. In order to achieve sufficient coordination between the ships, command, control and god communication is of vital importance.
