This weekend all the ships participating in DANEX 07 are lying in Copenhagen harbour and a large number people use the opportunity to visit the ships. Even though the Polish submarine SOKÓL is not open to the public it got a visitor today – from the sea.
Suddenly the private Danish submarine Kraka came along and said hello to its big sister from Poland.
With a length of 12 meters Kraka is almost four times smaller than SOKÓL. The small submarine that was launched in April 2005 is designed and built by the Danish submarine enthusiasts Peter Madsen and Claus Nørregaard.
Krakas visit made the Polish submariners – and everybody on the pier – open their eyes wide. It is not an everyday thing to see a homemade submarine pass by.
