The LYNX-helicopter circles over the sunlit sea north of Skagen. The crew on board is carefully watching the surface of the sea. They are looking for a submerged submarine that operates in the area.
Not the least because of the good weather, the crew on the blue helicopter fairly quickly manages to locate the submarine. It’s pericope is visible at the surface and the almost 50 meter long hull is faintly seen in the water. The submarine is the Polish SOKÓL which just like the LYNX and THETIS participates in DANEX 07.
Anti submarine warfare is one of the many disciplines that is trained during DANEX 07. It is very important for a naval force to be able to locate submarines in the area, where the force operates. A submerged, hostile submarine can pose a serious threat to the ships in the force.
