This morning, a landing party from Danish Task Group came ashore from the command ship THETIS. In co-operation with the Danish Emergency Management Agency and the Danish Field Hospital they have during the day controlled the Disaster Relief Operation (DRO) in Northern Jutland, where a natural disaster has caused great distruction. This was the task during the final day of the naval exercise DANEX 07.
The naval force consisting of ships from Denmark, Norway, United Kingdom and Poland anchored off Jerup Strand where the Field Hospial is established, while the Danish Emergency Management Agency personnel have conducted rescue work at the Naval Damage Control School in Hvims. A command element from the Danish Emergency Management Agency has been placed at the command post at Jerup Strand.
During the morning and the first hours of the afternoon, 70 ill and injured arrived at the Field Hospital, where they immediately were searched and divided into groups depending on their needs for medical attention.
At 3:00 p.m. 48 had passed through the hospital and were ready for further evacuation to the British naval ship ALBION, which tonight will sail the patients to Frederikshavn. In total 22 where still at the Field Hospital, while two were declared dead. According to informations from relatives, 20 persons are still missing. They are expected to arrive at the Field Hospital later today.
