The ARK vessels have been occupied with strategic sealift since the start of the project in the summer 2003. Not only the Danish MOD has been using the ships, but also NATO, Belgium, France, Holland, Norway, Germany, Spain, Slovakia, Italy, Poland, and England.

For all the ARK ships the following applies:

• They are manned with Danish officers and are under Danish flag.
• They are equipped with crane and side ramp.
• They are certified by the International Maritime Organisation.
• They are instructed and controlled by Admiral Danish Fleet.

ARK FUTURA: Can load either 2400 lane metres of vehicles or 900 containers.

BRITANNIA SEAWAYS: Can load either 3000 lane metres of vehicles or 835 containers.

SUECIA SEAWAYS: Sister ship to BRITANNIA SEAWAYS.
