ADMIRAL DANISH FLEET headquarter is a modern establishment, especially designed to deal with matters and incidents the sea dictates.
Today approximately 400 persons are occupied at the headquarters. A substantial portion of the personnel are operating 24/7 functions in the Operation Centre.
ADMIRAL DANISH FLEET is overall responsible for military security and safety at sea, including pollution combating at sea.
These tasks are accomplished in company with the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization, the Air Force, as well as a number of other governmental institutions including the police, the Danish Maritime Authority, Danish Meteorological Institute and the Danish Ministry of Taxation.
Another important task is providing fishery protection ships for the maintaining of sovereignty in the Northern Atlantic waters around Greenland and the Faroes Islands. The ships are provided for the Island Commanders, who operate the ships and conduct the day to day business.
Danish ships participate regularly in operations with NATO partners, including routinely participation in the NATO standing maritime forces.
