After almost two days at sea filled with lots of activities the ships in the DANEX-force are now starting to make their way to Aalborg. En route the ships will however still conduct various exercises, so that the time at sea is fully exploited.
According to plan the ships will arrive in Aalborg tomorrow, Friday the 5th of September, in the morning. The largest Danish ship is ESBERN SNARE, which during DANEX 08 also serves as platform for Captain (n) Per F. Hansen and his staff, who is running the exercise.
The stay in Aalborg will last the entire weekend and a number of activities have been planned for the visit – amongst other Seaman Olympics, where the crews will compete with each other. Most of the ships will be open to the public on Saturday between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and Sunday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. The Danish Naval Band will play on the pier and on Sunday morning there will be church march to Budolfi Church.
The detailed programme for the activities of the weekend can be found on this website under the menu item “Portvisits”.
