In the beginning not everything worked well but the assistance from more experienced colleagues from the other units has been enormous and has really benefited the ZEMAITIS crew training on the bridge and CIC. So far ZEMAITIS officers feel more prepared to work with international partners on procedural level, and at the same time has adapted well to the fast changing circumstances in this exercise.
The worst thing is the fatigue due to lack of sleep and the constantly moving ocean. Nevertheless ZEMAITIS sticks to it’s motto: “Things doesn’t kill you, only makes you stronger”.
Referring to the last press release from ZEMAITIS dating from the 17th August some things must be said about the ongoing shaving policy on board. As the weather is still not pleasant, the commander decided to make an experiment to see if his new theory about the connection between shaving and the weather was holding water.
The commander shaved himself but everybody else has to stick to the non-shaving policy. This did not work either and more ideas will be implemented in the nearest future. Ultimately the commander is very determined and has promised everybody to continue until a positive result is achieved.
